About Our School
Emery Park serves a very diverse community, serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Our three significant subgroups, according to NCLB, are Hispanic / Latino, English Learners, and the Socio-Economically Disadvantaged. We firmly believe that all of our students can be successful. Students are monitored on a regular basis to ensure academic success.
In order for our students to be successful, Emery Park teachers engage in ongoing professional development opportunities at the site and district level. Our teachers also collaborate on a frequent basis, identify the essential grade level Common Core Standards, create common assessments to measure student achievement, analyze data in order to plan interventions for students who are struggling, use effective instructional practices, and teach students how to be effective test takers. Our students also take district interim assessments throughout the year to mark academic growth. Teachers constantly reflect on their teaching practices and classroom practices for the sole purpose of seeing students succeed.
Our staff is also very involved in leadership positions. Our Cadre, Illuminate, and CAST teams assess the needs of the staff for staff professional development and staff meetings
